Tools Needed

  • 10mm socket and T30 torx (core support)
  • 8mm socket (fiberglass panels)
  • T20 torx (fan)
  • 12-point 17mm wrench (supercharger belt tensioner)
  • 17mm socket (accessory belt tensioner)
  • T50 torx (double idler)
  • E10 socket (water neck bolt)
  • 15mm socket, 8mm socket
  • Loctite
  1. Lift the engine cover off near the mounting points.
  2. Remove the core support sheet metal: three bolts on each side and three in the center (10mm socket / T30 torx). Pry up the plastic pins.
  3. Remove the two underside fiberglass panels (four screws on the first, six on the second) using an 8mm socket.
  4. Remove the radiator fan: one T20 torx screw on the bottom passenger side, lift the metal pipe out of its hook, disconnect the electrical connector (squeeze and lift), and release the metal clips on each side. The plastic is brittle — go slow.
  5. Remove the supercharger belt using a 12-point 17mm wrench on the tensioner.
  6. Remove the accessory belt with a 17mm socket on its tensioner.
  7. Remove the double idler: pry off the plastic cap, then remove the bolt with a T50 torx.
  8. Reinstall the double idler with the supplied 10×100mm bolt and spacer using Loctite. Leave it loose enough for the BWK front plate.
  9. Remove the water neck bolt with an E10 socket.
  10. Install the BWK rear plate with 15mm and 8mm sockets. Use Loctite on both bolts. Don't over-tighten the small bolt — the aluminum is soft and can strip. Make sure the washer is on the stud in front of the nut.
  11. Reinstall the accessory belt and the new supercharger belt.
  12. Install the BWK front plate with the 10mm nut using Loctite and a 15mm socket. Tighten the double idler bolt with a 15mm socket.
  13. Reinstall everything else in reverse order of removal.
