09-15 CTS-V Differential Bushings

2009-2015 Cadillac CTS-V

DrivetrainAdvanced

The OEM bushings have a metal sleeve that must be removed before our bushings can press into the differential. This often requires removing the differential from the vehicle, so allow ample time before starting.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Chock the front wheels.
  2. Remove the rear section of exhaust.
  3. Mark the clocking of the driveshaft and pinion flange with a paint pen, then disconnect the driveshaft from the differential.
  4. Remove the differential and the bushings pressed into the housing.
  5. Clean the bores of any rust, debris, or sharp burrs.
  6. Front bushings: pressed into the two vertical bores closest to the driveshaft. All four are identical (top and bottom). Press the bushings in, grease the inside, then push the bushing tube in until flush. Wipe away excess grease.
  7. Rear bushings: pressed into the rear horizontal bore. The two flange thicknesses are labeled — "Rear Driver Diff Bushing" presses in from the driver side, "Rear Passenger Diff Bushing" from the passenger side. Press in, grease, and seat the tube flush.
  8. Reinstall the differential.
  9. Reinstall the driveshaft at the original clocking marks.
  10. Reinstall the exhaust. Enjoy.
