04-07 CTS-V Trans Mount

Tools Needed

  • 15mm socket/wrench
  • T-50 torx bit
  • Floor jack
  • Lift or jack stands
  1. Raise the vehicle using a lift, jack, and jack stands.
  2. Place a jack just forward of the transmission mount under the transmission and raise it until it contacts the trans.
  3. Using a 15mm socket or wrench, remove the two lower transmission mount nuts.
  4. Remove the transmission cross member — four bolts with a 15mm socket and two with a T-50 torx bit.
  5. Using a 15mm wrench, remove the two upper transmission mount bolts.
  6. Jack the transmission up as high as it will go without damaging the shifter linkage.
  7. Remove the transmission mount (you may need to lower the exhaust depending on your setup).
  8. Reverse the order to install your new Creative Steel transmission mount.
